Dear SOE Graduate Students:
The SOE is now accepting applications for two reader positions for Summer 2022:
Application requires a cover letter indicating prior teaching experience, CV/resume and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching expertise (ex: teaching evaluations). The application deadline for this position is no later than: 5 pm on Monday, June 20, 2022
The duties and responsibilities of this position are to grade assignments and exams as directed by the course instructor. Attendance in the course itself is not required. The hourly pay rate for graduate students is $17.26.
This opportunity is available to interested M.Ed., M.A. and Ph.D. students who:

*         Are making adequate progress toward completion of their degree

*         Have a cumulative grade average of 3.0 or above

*         Have received at least a "B" in a course similar to the course in question and/or

*         Have other academic or professional expertise in the subject matter

Principles Of Healthful Living
Manasi Rajadhyaksha
Introduction to personal, family, and community health. Discusses the attitudes and behaviors associated with healthful living and the use of health-related scientific information. Explores the effects of alcohol, dangerous drugs, narcotics, degenerative and infectious diseases, and tobacco on the human body and the community resources available to assist in their treatment.
Anticipating up to 11 hours per week; Start Date and final appointment percentage is subject to when the appointment is confirmed and course enrollment numbers.

Reading and Language Development
Aya Shhub
An introduction to reading and language development. Addresses theoretical models of reading; linguistics and language development; methods and materials; children's and adolescents' literature; reading in the content areas; individual differences; and measurement and evaluation in reading.
