[Gradstudents] Employment Opportunity - Associate-Instructor for Fall 2022

Dear SOE Graduate Students:
The SOE is now accepting applications for associate-instructor positions for Fall 2022. Applications require a cover letter indicating prior teaching experience, CV/resume and any additional documentation you feel is pertinent to express your teaching expertise (ex: teaching evaluations).

The application deadline for these positions is 5 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

Description of Associate-Instructor: An associate instructor, also known as associate-in, is a registered graduate student who should be competent to work independently and without supervision to conduct the entire instruction of a lower division undergraduate course. The minimal qualifications for appointment to the title associate-in shall be possession of a master's degree or equivalent training and at least one year of teaching experience. Assignment to conduct instruction in an upper division or graduate level course may not be made except with the approval of the Committee on Courses.

The following is a list of open sections:

Fall 2022: EDUC 010-001 - Principles of Learning Strategies;
Modality: Online;
Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 9:30-10:50 am;
The course also includes the support of two teaching assistants to run discussion sections and provide other instructional support.
Preferred qualifications: experience as a teaching assistant in EDUC 010 or similar Education course.

Fall 2022: EDUC 179A-001 - Language Development in the Content Areas;
Modality: In-Person;
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:20 pm;
The course also includes the support of two teaching assistants to run discussion sections and provide other instructional support.
Preferred qualifications: a teaching credential, strong background in teaching in a bilingual setting, and/or research expertise in subject matter preferred.
