[Geospatial] Planet Imagery Day May 2, AND a campus bike count project May 14-15

Hello everyone,

This email contains a reminder about one upcoming event and a call for participation for another event.

Reminder:

Planet Imagery Day will be held on the morning of Friday, May 2 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in Orbach Science Library, Room 122.

This event will feature talks and demonstrations about using Planet satellite imagery. Additionally, it will provide opportunity to connect with fellow Planet imagery researchers and ask questions of the Planet staff.

All levels of experience are welcome. Join us for all or part of the morning. Coffee and pastries will be served.

The agenda:
9:00-9:10         Welcome
9:10-11:00       Integrating and analyzing Planet imagery with Google Earth Engine
11:00-11:30     Using Planet imagery in ArcGIS
11:30-12:00     UCR research using Planet imagery

Call for participation:

UCR students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to participate in the 2025 UCR Annual Bike Count event on Wednesday May 14 and Thursday May 15. There will be shifts from 9:00-11:00 and 1:00-3:00 each day. Refreshments will be provided.

An informational webinar on Monday, May 12 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm will provide details on navigating the software that will be used to count the number of bikes and scooters on campus.
