[Geospatial] Notes from Geospatial/GIS meetup, September 17, AND requests for help

Hello all,

Before talking about the meetup, I want to share two requests that I've received this week.

  *   This one is urgent and applies to grad students who have learned GIS (especially ArcGIS Pro): Associate Professor Ran Wei in the School of Public Policy is seeking a TA for PBPL 010: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems, being offered online this Fall. Please contact Ran at ran.wei at ucr.edu very soon if you have any questions or are interested!

This one applies to faculty, postdocs or grad students: Riverside County is planning their GIS Day for either November 18th or 19th. They are seeking a speaker from UCR, in-person or virtual. They are gearing their GIS Day towards high school students and would like to have someone who is good to speaking to that level. (Students from three of the area high schools are being brought in for the day.) Please contact me if you are interested and I’ll pass that along.
