[Geospatial] Geospatial/GIS meetup

Hello everyone,

Our next Geospatial/GIS meetup will be on Tuesday, August 13 from 12:00-12:50 pm.

To avoid having anyone walking in the mid-day heat, the meetup will be held on Zoom only. It will be recorded.

Our topic will be Takeaways from the Esri User Conference.


The Esri User Conference<https://www.esri.com/en-us/about/events/uc/overview> was held July 15-19. I attended five conference sessions plus the plenary virtually; other members of our geospatial community attended either in person or virtually. Let's share what we learned! For starters, I can share about the following sessions:

  *   3D GIS: An Overview
  *   GeoAI in ArcGIS
  *   Accessibility Essentials for GIS and Mapping
  *   ArcGIS Pro: Geoprocessing Tips and Tricks
  *   ArcGIS Web Editor: An Overview
  *   And as a bonus ... Enhancements in StoryMaps, from the May 2024 GIS in Higher Education Chat<https://gis-in-higher-education-chat-edresources.hub.arcgis.com/> (most likely some of the same things were mentioned in a StoryMap session at the User Conference!)

-->Any meetup attendees who attended one or more sessions of the User Conference (or the Education Summit<https://www.esri.com/en-us/about/events/education-summit/overview> that preceded it) are invited to talk about their takeaways also!


The meetup will start with announcements of general interest.
