Good afternoon,
FYI: Just want to let you know… CNAS received the below email notification yesterday announcing the zoom phone migration is set for April 25th (full email notice below).
Earlier this year we audited phone lines provided to us by ITS. We were tasked with confirming/identifying the remaining phone lines that needed to be moved to zoom. On that same list we also noted the lines that departments would prefer to keep as analogue, in Labs, etc..
What You Need to Know

  * Activation of your ORG’s Zoom Phone service is scheduled to take place on April 25, 2024 between 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM (PDT). The Zoom Phone Project Team will provide live support during Office Hours on the day of the migration (more details to follow).
  * Once activation is complete, all calling activities (inbound and outbound) will be routed through a new phone icon in the Zoom Meeting desktop and mobile application.
  * Campus users’ current desk phones will be inoperable upon activation of Zoom Phone Services.
  * Please note that desk phones will not be replaced. If a physical phone is required for those that are moving to zoom phone on April 25th, a Telecom work order<https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal/?id=sc_category&catalog_id=6dc6382437e8cb40a2e983dcb3990e88> must be submitted as early as now. Please read the Zoom Phone FAQs<https://its.ucr.edu/zoom-phone-services#will-i-have-the-option-of-reta> for more details.
  * Your voicemail greeting, voicemail messages, and speed dials will not transfer from your current phone to your new Zoom Phone account. ITS will provide additional guidance to campus users ahead of the migration on how to set up their new Zoom Phone voicemail.
  * ITS will also send a separate email communication to all affected campus users to inform them about their migration to Zoom Phone and what they need to know and do prior to cutover. This will include an invitation to attend the instructor-led Zoom Phone training session on April 22, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

  * Please watch this two-minute video<https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360028936531> for a brief introduction to Zoom Phone Services.
FYI: Per ITS – all the lines that we requested stay analogue (in our labs, main office lines, emergency lines, etc) are not affected by this transition. Those lines will stay analogue utilizing the existing equipment.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
