[Entm-researchstaff] Mandatory Meeting for anybody that purchases things

All,

This is a meeting you probably do not want to miss.  Bill is holding a
brief (30-60 min) online training session on figuring out how to
purchase things on the new system (goes live in a week or so, I think).  I
think it is pretty important that any of your who have had purchasing
authorization attend this meeting. This includes all PI and all of their
designates.  The session will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday 6/23/23.

As you know, June 21st was the last day to use ebuy for any further
ordering.  Starting July 5th, we should be able to use Oracle Procurement.
A couple of things to be aware of for the new system:



1)            There are no longer sub-requestors. Anyone who will be making
a request in Oracle will need to take the proper training before we can set
them up in Oracle.  This is true for each PI or their delegate.  If you
choose to assign a delegate, there is there is a way to have a requestor
route their order to the PI for approval before it goes to me, the
transactor. This is an added few steps in the system but the only way it
can be done.

2)            Each requestor will need to know the appropriate project
number or COA. The system will not allow it to move forward without this
information.  The admin team is actively working on converting FAUs to COAs
and a list will be distributed to PIs upon completed.



We are currently waiting for the requestor role training link in UC
Learning Center - UCLC (formerly known as LMS).  We will forward the
information as soon as it becomes available.  In preparation, please start
making yourself aware of the new financial system and what the UCR Chart of
Accounts will look like.  The following courses will likely be
prerequisites for the requestor role training. These can be found in the

Meanwhile, I will be giving a brief overview of the system on Friday, June
23rd @ 2pm via zoom.
