I am writing to ask that you assist me in informing members of your
department, particularly recent graduates and postdocs, about a great
opportunity to join the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service as a Research
Entomologist. More specifically, the opening(s) are in the Pest Management
and Biocontrol Research Unit at the Arid Land Agricultural Research Center
(ALARC), located in Maricopa, Arizona. The posting is being advertised on

starting January 6 and applications are welcome through their portal until
February 6. While the ad suggests that there is only one position, we
anticipate hiring two individuals out of our pool of applicants. We are
looking for people capable of conducting independent research in the
management of insect pests of agricultural crops. Within that broad area,
we are willing to consider applicants with a diverse range of skillsets to
find individuals that will complement and broaden our existing program.
