Hi all,

Allen Cohen is offering what looks like a very good couple of courses
course in a virtual format. If you don't know Allen he was an ARS scientist
and had a long career studying insect feeding and rearing and then after
retired went to North Carolina State University to develop an insect
rearing program. APHIS has sponsored a lot of work by Allen and his
students to work on diet development but his expertise goes well beyond
artificial diets and nutrition and I think this course could be helpful for
our work rearing insects on plants as well and natural enemy rearing
systems. At 250 a course, it looks like a bargain to me then of course
there is his new CRC book.

Hope everyone is well,

Greg

*Subject:* Announcement of 3 new insect rearing classes

Hello Walther, Greg, Hugh, and Bryce,

I hope that you are all doing well.

As I promised, I am letting you know about the arrangements for my 3 new
synchronous courses in insect rearing. The information is in the attached
PDF. I have tried to make adjustments according to input that I have
gotten, and I will continue to be flexible with various ways of making
rearing education more available and useful to the rearing community. I
hope that you will notice that I have tried to make the times of the
classes as convenient as possible, and I feel that the format of having two
2.5 hour meetings per week meets learning needs and attention span
realities. I have also tried to make the cost of each class within a
reasonable budget framework. I am most excited about the potential for
close interactions that the Zoom and Moodle formats allow.

Thanks for your attention and best regards,

Allen
