All,
First off, today, several of us received the updated login instructions for
the mandated campus check-in procedures. To say the least, those
directions were confusing and only made things more difficult. I engaged
in some "good trouble" (which is all I do anymore) and received some
clarity on what/how to do when you come to campus.

1. The correct login site is http://symptomcheck.ucr.edu. IT IS NOT
http://wellnesscheck.ucr.edu as was indicated in the email. Please
bookmark http://symptomcheck.ucr.edu for your use
2. When you use the above link, it will take you to a page and ask you
what account you want to use. There should be an option there that
includes your campus email (which is an google account). Click on that,
you DO NOT need to create another account. The aforementioned page it
there so the google form (which is where you want to wind up on) will
self-populate. If you use another email account, just manually enter it,
and continue on; although you will have fill in a lot more stuff on the
form.

Second, you will no doubt notice that all drinking fountains have been
disabled. According to Facilities this is by state order or state
recommendation; I cannot tell which. Facilities has installed 3-4
hydration stations (wall mounted gizmos that are light activated to fill a
water bottle) on our side of campus.
Here is the map where they are located:
https://ucrtoday.ucr.edu/15172/hydrationstationmap. The closest
functioning one to us is the Lothian dorms. Unless you drink a lot of
water before you set out to find a hydration station, you will die of
dehydration in this heat (bad humor).

I have raised hell with VC Bomotti on this as we did not get a notice nor
have they installed options for us to get water. But, I remind you that
the water coming out of the taps in all restrooms is potable (same water
as is going to the drinking fountains). So I suggest, we all start using
water bottles, fill them up in the restrooms (sanitize the faucet handles
first), and go about our day. Additionally, labs are free to obtain
(purchase) a water jug (eg. 5 gal igloo

for the use of your personnel (and you will need figure out how to keep
the button virus free). The buildings are still required to be locked
up, so unfortunately having water delivered for a touchless dispenser is
not an option. If anybody has other suggestions, I am listening.

Take care everybody and have a good weekend.
