*Tuesday February 11: Leadership & Resilience Training [11am-12:30 pm PT]*
Lorca Smetana will lead a workshop on self-evaluating our capacity to work
with oneself and others, and the bandwidth to handle relationships and
roles. The purpose of this foundational training is to "redefine how we
own, expand, and teach strength and resilience within our teams. It
provides hands-on tools to address ongoing stress injury and training for
personal resistance to anxiety, depression, and isolation." Please have a
pen and unlined piece of paper available during the workshop.

Lorca Smetana knows about coming back stronger and richer inside after
living through crisis. She was born into a mountaineering community, and
was a survivor of the Mt. Hood climbing tragedy that took the lives of nine
students and teachers. The awareness of mortality and its impact on how we
live remain a powerful thread through her work. She was recommended from
the Wilderness Risk Management Conference, and upon meeting Lorca, our
planning team was immediately impressed by her unique and systematic
approach to understanding our own capacities in the outdoors.

*Tuesday March 4: Social Field Safety Workshop [11 am-1 pm PT]*

Field Inclusive strives to provide tangible and actionable improvements in
the natural sciences by addressing social field safety issues related to
equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Learning and being aware
of various social field safety issues that could arise for people who
professionally work outdoors — but more specifically — for marginalized and
historically excluded individuals is our goal. We believe all field
researchers deserve and have a right to the tools necessary for success in
their professional work. Website: https://www.fieldinclusive.org/
