California Ecology and Conservation is an intensive field program that transforms students into scientists. The course is specifically tailored for students contemplating a career in ecology, conservation biology, or a related field. This spring will mark our 30th run. Since its inception in 2015, over 500 undergraduates across the UC system have participated. 

Program Highlights:
Duration: 50 days
Participants: 27 undergraduates from across the UC system
Experience: Hands-on learning in some of California's most awe-inspiring landscapes
Skills Developed:
Conducting independent research studies
Framing questions into feasible research projects
Practicing standard field techniques
Data analysis and presentation skills
Leadership and teamwork in a diverse community of scholars

Eligibility: All UC undergraduates who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
2.5+ GPA
Good standing with their home campus
Successful completion of an introductory biology course

My favorite part of CEC is the community. I learned the most through the field experiences and getting to learn all of my peer’s knowledge. 

The application is quite easy I was expecting it to be a lot more difficult but it only took about an afternoon to do.
