The Integrated Pest Control Branch is recruiting to fill five (5) Pest Prevention Assistant I (12-month, limited term) positions for its Navel Orangeworm Program in its Shafter field office.

These positions are 12-month, limited term, which may be extended to a maximum of 24-months, with the option to become permanent.

Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), and under the lead of Pest Prevention Assistant (PPA) III, the Pest Prevention Assistant I performs the more routine trapping, sterile insect technique, and laboratory activities for the Navel Orangeworm Program and the Integrated Pest Control Branch.
