*Official Announcement:*

*P**rogram dates: June 6 – July 29, 2022*

The 2022 *Explore* BiGG Data REEU is hosted at the University of Tennessee
at Knoxville and will be *accepting applications starting December 1, 2021*.
The goal of the *Explore* BiGG Data REEU <https://reeu.tennessee.edu/> is
to holistically prepare talented, diverse women and women-aligned people
for graduate programs and careers in bioinformatics, genetics and genomic
sciences. Because demand for bioinformatics capabilities throughout the
food, agricultural, and natural resource sectors greatly outweighs current
supply, there is a critical need for a diverse, talented workforce well
trained in Bioinformatics, Genetics, and Genomic Sciences (BiGGS). This
program, a powerful training combination of bioinformatics with genetics
and genomic data training, will provide opportunities to develop critical
thinking, problem solving, and digital competency skills. Furthermore 21st
Century skills training will provide Explore BiGG Data Fellows with the
communication/leadership skills needed for future employment and/or higher
education. Applications will be accepted until February 15 or until all
spots are filled.

*Interviews will start on January 15, 2022 and awardees will be notified
by March 15, 2022.*

Please visit the *Explore* BiGG Data REEU <https://reeu.tennessee.edu/>website
for more information. Please contact program director Dr. Kimberly Gwinn
via email (kgwinn at utk.edu) with any questions.

Thanks!

Becky
