The first of two Biological Science Technician job announcements for
upcoming 2023 field work opportunities at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National
Park (SEKI) is open for applications on USAJOBS.gov
<http://usajobs.gov/>. *These
announcements include positions with SEKI's Plant Ecology Program (rare
plant surveys, wilderness meadow monitoring), Invasive Plants &
Revegetation / Restoration Program, and Sierra Nevada Network Inventory &
Monitoring Program* (*high elevation forest monitoring in both SEKI and
Yosemite). *

Both announcements have multiple grade levels available for positions on a
variety of crews, including leadership roles for those crews. Crews will be
in backcountry wilderness or frontcountry locations or both. *Grade levels
available include GS-4, GS-5, GS-6, and GS-7.* Most positions start in
early April and end in late September or October; some start in May. GS4
positions are especially great opportunities for those still in college
looking for summer work - you can sometimes arrange to leave the position
early if needed to return to classes in the fall.

Biotech GS7 and GS7 announcement: https://www.usajobs.gov/job/691043700

*The first announcement is open this week (12/5-12/12) but will close as
soon as enough applications are received.* *If you are interested in
applying, you are encouraged to do so as soon as possible.* *This
announcement is shared with 6 other National Park Service Units in the
Pacific west.* If that limit is reached before December 12, the
announcement will close at midnight Eastern Time on the day that
application limit is reached, which would be 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

If you've never applied to USAJOBS.gov <http://usajobs.gov/> before, check
out the Sierra Nevada Network Inventory & Monitoring Program's website
about their job openings which has a tutorial video and other tips Work

Please pass this information on to anyone you feel is a great candidate for
any of these positions, and *f*eel free to contact me by email or phone.
