Hi Dr Redak,



I am reaching out to let you know that we are beginning to conduct PPE Spot
Checks around campus. My student workers are currently trained for this and
will be going through labs to do a quick spot check. We have a system where
they can report compliance and non-compliance, but PIs will not receive the
reports like they do with regular inspections because this is more for
record keeping and identifying that might be our campus’s weaker points
when it comes to PPE compliance.



The students will remind people of the minimum PPE to be worn if they are
not in compliance, but there won’t be any follow-up from any of us unless
there is an issue that needs addressing (eg: the person has not been
assigned PPE and needs to make an appointment with us to receive some).



I would greatly appreciate it if you would be able to forward this email to
the PIs in Entomology just so they aren’t surprised by our student workers’
presences. They will be starting with the Entomology Building for now since
it is the nicer and newer one and will likely not visit any of the other
buildings until next calendar year.
