Dear All,

This is a reminder regarding an important upcoming date.

Monday, March 29, 2021 (the first day of instruction for Spring 2021) is the last day for International PhD students to take their oral qualifying exam** and qualify for reduced Nonresident Supplemental Tuition (NRT) for Spring 2021. Students can take the exam on Monday the 29th and still qualify. Exams taken on March 30th or after will not qualify.

**Taking the oral qualifying exam does not guarantee advancement to candidacy. Students must also have completed all other requirements for the degree except the defense and dissertation.

Remember - the Form 2 nominating the oral qualifying exam committee must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance of the exam. The student’s Degree Works degree audit must also be reviewed at this time. If all required items are not checking off the audit, the student’s advancement will be delayed. Start getting in touch with your international students NOW to confirm who needs to schedule their orals.

Please get those Form 3's to us within 48 business hours after the exam so we can process and have the student's bill adjusted to reflect the reduced NRT in a timely manner.
