Dear English Majors,

Welcome to a new academic year! I am so excited to kick off another year
with you here at UCR. Whether this is your first quarter on campus or your
final stretch toward graduation, the Department of English is here to

*🗓 New Appointment System*
We launched a new appointment scheduling system to make advising more
efficient! You can access the Slate Student Portal to book your advising
appointment at https://succeed.ucr.edu/portal/studentsuccess.

   - Slate is designed to automatically direct you to the advising center
   best suited to your needs, making it easier to connect and get the answers
   you need quickly.
   - No worries if you can’t make your appointment! Just be sure to cancel
   it. This way, another student can book the timeslot, and everyone gets the
   help they need.

A new academic year means fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and connect,
