About Bill Perez

William J. “Bill” Perez has been a dedicated advocate for labor rights and
working families in the Inland Empire for nearly five decades. Throughout
his 47-year career in the labor movement, he held numerous leadership
roles, including Business Manager of the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 440 and Executive Secretary/Business
Manager of the Riverside & San Bernardino Building and Construction Trades
Council, AFL-CIO. In these roles, he worked tirelessly to improve labor
conditions, mentor future leaders, and advocate for policies that create
good-paying jobs and career opportunities in the region.

Even after his retirement in 2022, Bill remains engaged in the community,
continuing to support efforts that uplift working families, promote labor
education, and strengthen the local workforce. His lifelong commitment to
social and economic justice continues to inspire the next generation of
labor advocates.

Thank you for your support in recognizing and uplifting students committed
to labor advocacy and social justice.

In Solidarity,
