UWP Lecturers Good News

Hello All,

Keith and I have received confirmation that Lecturer representation on the Writing Program Committee will be increasing to FIVE members.  This is great news! It will help to increase our influence in the Program and it will also make the work load much more reasonable. If some of you Continuing Lectuers have been reluctant to participate because of that work load, I hope you will rethink the possibilities.

One position will remain fixed for the Lecturer who serves as Associate Dir. of Writing (this is currently Linda Strahan), and the four others will be two-year positions, cycling off in alternate years (as we do now).

So, we will need to elect THREE new lecturer reps.  We'll need two new people to serve for two year positions. And then we'll have one person serve one year, cycling off with me at the end of next year. This will maintain the same process of continuity while still allowing for new involvement.

The logical way to do this is to take the top three people elected. Let me state that WE NEED MORE NOMINEES THAN WE HAVE RIGHT NOW.

This is an important opportunity for more instructor involvement so that we can strive to make this Writing Program what we think it should be.  Please nominate yourself, or, if you wish me to ask someone that you believe would be a good representative, just let me know and I will do the asking.
