Bettina Bildhauer is Lecturer in German at the University of St Andrews
in Scotland. She is the author of such books as Medieval Blood
and has coedited the influential collections Medieval Film and The
Monstrous Middle Ages. She has been awarded a Leverhulme Prize,
and an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship for her work on the Middle
Ages in German film and she is presently a fellow at the Free University
of Berlin. She is a regular reviewer for TLS.
