A Reminder:  in order to best focus on the needs of students repeating English 4 for the third time, there is a significant difference in the texts used during this quarter.  The Sentence Combining book is designed to help them improve their grammar and syntax.  Be sure that you include it on your syllabus.  There is also a new book of readings, but some instructors prefer to find ways to assign parts of Write It and Write It Review to groups of students who have not previously used particularly sections.  We will be announcing the topic/readings for the spring final exam shortly and will happily furnish those of you who choose not to have your students buy The Seagull Reader with copies of those essays.
