  Description:

A trilogy of dances created by venerated 
choreographer Margaret Jenkins and her company, 
Other Suns is a visually stunning, cross-cultural 
collaboration with the Guangdong Modern Dance 
Company of Guangzhou, China - mainland China’s 
first professional modern dance company. 
Combining athleticism, technical acuity and 
emotional nuance, Other Suns creates a highly 
charged landscape that transcends national and 
cultural borders. Live music composed by Paul 
Dresher and performed by the Paul Dresher 
Ensemble with additional music by Chinese composer Bun Ching-Lam.

Company: Margaret Cromwell, Joseph Copley, Kelly 
Del Rosario, Steffany Ferroni, Emily Hite, 
Matthew Holland, Heidi Schweiker and Ryan T. Smith

Dancers/Collaborators from Guangdong Modern Dance 
Company: Hui Guanglei, Li Pianpian, Liu Bingyuan, 
Lu Yahui, Tan Yuanbo, Zhang Yinwen and Deputy Artistic Director Liu Qi

Other Suns is funded in part by the National 
Dance Project of the New England Foundation for 
the Arts, with lead funding from the Doris Duke 
Charitable Foundation and additional funding from 
the Ford Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon 
Foundation, and the Community Connections Fund of the MetLife Foundation.
