Dear ABD's:

You will be receiving a survey regarding our doctoral program about now.
Please do fill it out and return it. Our national ranking will depend on
your participation and on what you say.

Many thanks,

Steve

Subject: Fwd: NRC Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs Status Reports

Dear Colleagues,

The faculty surveys for the NRC Assessment of Doctoral Programs are
now officially closed. The student surveys are all that remain to be
completed in the data collection phase. (Some faculty will be asked
to rate other graduate programs).

I am forwarding the April 2nd status report of faculty participation
in the NRC assessment of doctoral programs. Our final faculty
participation was 82.6%, as compared to 73.0% nationally. Faculty
participation went from 79.8% (March 26th) to 82.6% (April 2nd) - a
total of 15 additional faculty completed their questionnaire during
the final week.

Student surveys are scheduled to go out on April 9th. Students who
have advanced to candidacy in Economics, English, Physics and
Chemical Engineering will receive surveys.

Faculty selected to be raters of other graduate programs will be
notified on April 9th or soon thereafter. NRC plans to use
approximately 10,000 faculty as raters.

Again, thanks for your help in achieving a high level of
participation by our faculty.

Dallas
