[Englecturers] Dane Barca talk

Hello all,
 
Dane Barca, who is now completing his dissertation on literature and
medicine under Jennifer Doyle's direction, will soon be flying to the
University of South Florida for a campus visit, following a successful MLA
interview. In preparation, he will be giving a trial run of his talk this
coming Tuesday, January 24, at noon in the conference room (2212). The talk
is called "Recasting Melville's Abolitionism: Ethnographic Science and the
Ocular Fallacy." 
 
I invite those of you who know Dane, and particularly those of you who
don't, to attend this talk and show support. I also encourage those of you
who don't know Dane to ask him a question at the end, to simulate the actual
South Florida experience.
