To all English Professors-
My name is Zana Devitto and I am a fifth year graduate
student in the Psychology Department. I am currently
working on my dissertation project which entails
recruitment of Creative Writing and English students
as subjects. I received a grant from the University
to pay for said students to submit writing assignments/classwork for use in
my experiment.
Specifically, my work involves the development of a
'language fingerprint' that allows me to distinguish
one text from another based on patterns inherent in
its composition. I need to have several samples from
a subject in order to demonstrate that this
fingerprint maintains across topic and time. This is
hard to do with intro psych students.

So in order to recruit students, I need about ten
minutes of class time to introduce my experiment and
take down names. The rest of the experiment is
completed via ilearn. If any of you are willing to
allow me to visit your class, I would really
appreciate the opportunity. If you have any further
questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you
for your time!

Zana Devitto, ABD
Psychology Department
