Hello Professor,
My name is Simarpal Singh, the founder and president of the Artificial
Intelligence Student Collective. I had emailed you at the beginning of
the school year about our club, and I am happy today that we are finally
building traction and bringing exciting opportunities to our students!
Our team would greatly appreciate it if we could get your support on
spreading our mission of AI literacy by posting about our upcoming
general meeting, happening *this Thursday, April 11 @ 830pm in Sproul
1102*. I have drafted a message below:
Happy Spring Quarter Highlanders 🌼🌿
We are excited to announce our second General Meeting, happening this
Thursday April 11th @ 8:30pm in Sproul 1102.
This meeting will entail an overview of what AISC is and what we offer,
what to expect, an introduction to our board, and unveiling our first
projects cycle!
Are you looking for Al/ML project experience to boost your resume?
Then our projects are perfect for you! We have created 5 projects to
help tailor your skill set and give you real project experience, lead by
our wonderful team!
You can learn more about our projects below:
1. Spotify Music Recommender System
-Develop a music recommendation system that suggests tracks to users
based on their listening history, favorite genres, and artist
preferences. The system will utilize collaborative filtering and
content-based techniques to personalize recommendations for each user.
2. Personal Assistant Chatbot
-Make your own personal assistant chatbot, designed to set reminders,
answer questions, and even provide current weather updates! Gain Python
skills in a practical scenario and get hands-on experience with chatbot
development and learn Natural Language Processing Concepts!
3. Skin Lesions Classification
-Design a machine-learning model that utilizes computer vision to
determine if a skin lesion is benign or malignant!
Learn how to process medical data, check your model for biases, and
utilize Python in a practical, real-world scenario!
4. Hotel Booking App
-This project involves designing a hotel booking app to cater to
travelers’ needs. The user-friendly platform will provide a seamless
booking experience for users.
5. Car Price Predictor
-Join our journey into the exciting world of data science as we dive
into the topic of predictive modeling! Our project aims to make machine
learning less scary by guiding you through hands-on tasks, from basic
data analysis to advanced predictive modeling techniques. Whether it’s
predicting car prices or something of that nature, you’ll learn to use
Python and different data analysis techniques, even if you have little
to no experience in python.
I have attached our flyer for the meeting below. Please let me know if
there is anything else you might need from me!
Best,
--
