The Three Louies Performance at Zacatecas Cafe, Riverside

The iconoclastic Chicano trio known as The Three Louies will perform on Tuesday, March 27 at 6:00 pm. The performance is scheduled at Zacatecas Cafe located at 2472 University Avenue in Riverside. The performance is free and open to the public.

RSVP - by email to xicana at att.net<mailto:xicana at att.net>. Limited Seating available.

The Three Louies are a group that is difficult to define. Their presentations are part performance art, part comedy and part social satire. The group features three Chicanos whose roots are on Los Angeles eastside and who have individually pursued successful careers in music, literature and journalism.

The members of the Three Louies are Louie Perez of the musical group Los Lobos, nationally renowned writer Luis J. Rodriguez and award-winning journalist and broadcaster Luis Torres.

Luis J. Rodriguez latest book is a memoir titled Calls you Back Louie Perez is currently on a nationwide tour with the rock band Los Lobos. Luis Torres is the author of a forthcoming book examining the 1968 East Los Angeles high school student walkouts and the work of educational reformer Vahac Mardirosian.

The performance is presented in part with the CalifAztlan Resurgence 2012 art exhibit to be held at Shutterstories Gallery in Riverside from March 18 - 28. The Inland Empire premiere of the art exhibit presents a small segment of the diversity of experiences found among Chicanos in California.
