Billy Billings is an up and coming Country Western singer; hailed as the new Eddy Arnold. Everything is fine until Billy finds religion and is forced to make a choice between fame and faith. He chooses faith and as a result his life plummets into confusion and disillusionment. His wife leaves him. He unhappily remarries and becomes involved in a near incestuous relationship all the while clinging desperately to his all but forsaken love for music.
