for those born in California or if you know folks who live in northern CA,
Ching-In

 The Jackson, Phelan, and Tanenbaum Literary Awards are given to promising
young writers, between the ages of 20-35, who have an unpublished fiction,
nonfiction, poetry, graphic novel, or drama manuscripts that are completed
or in-progress.  Three awards of $2,000 each will be given and a public
reception will be held at Intersection for the Arts in San Francisco.  For

are due by March 31, 2009
