TO: Department Faculty and Staff Advisors
Please forward the attached FALL 2008 seminar schedule and course descriptions for the department of English to all graduate students in your department(s). Please also be sure that every graduate student in your department is made aware of our department's policy that all seminar enrollments must first be approved by the English department's faculty graduate advisor, Professor Joseph Childers.
If you would like anyone added to or deleted from this quarterly email, please email me directly at tina.feldmann at ucr.edu. Thank you.

TO: Graduate Students
Please do NOT send your preferences to Professor Childers. Please send your preferences to tina.feldmann at ucr.edu by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29th. (I will then compile the information and printing every student's email message for Professor Childers.
By Friday, May 2nd, Professor Childers will send out the all-inclusive department class rosters. If your name is on the roster, then you have received permission to take the seminar (a space is being reserved for you. If your name is not on the roster, please feel free to email Professor Childers directly at that time.
Once permission is granted by Professor Childers, you may officially enroll, through GROWL, during the pre-registration period beginning Monday, May 5. (Any student who enrolls in a seminar without receiving permission from Professor Childers will be dropped from the seminar.)
Note: When you are given permission to enroll in a seminar, your place is reserved, therefore, we ask that you notify us if you change your mind and no longer wish to be enrolled in the seminar -- once you have been given permission to enroll -- so we can then make that slot available to another student.
While priority must be given to English graduate students, we recognize the need and interest of graduate students outside our department, and in that spirit, we are happy to notify interested graduate students of the remaining seminar spaces if you will send your seminar preference email to Tina Feldman in part II, listed below. Thank you.
Tina Feldmann
