[Cwgrad-announcements] Congratulations to Gaby!

    Second year MFA student Gabriela Jauregui has just been named a presitigious Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow.  She was one of 30 out of the approximately 1,000 applicants and just one of three to ever win in the field of literature.  (Most winners are in the professional fields of law, medicine, and science research.)  The fellowship will allow Gaby to stay for a third year in the program and continue work on her novel project.    (On a personal aside, how cool is it to see the students of this program--our friends and peers--succeed?  Alex Espinoza just received sterling reviews in the LA Times and Los Angeles Magazine for his new novel Stillwater Saints.  Go us!)
