Hi All,
Prof. Ram Dixit (Washington University) will be giving the IIGB seminar on*
January 26th at noon*. Here is his title and abstract
Title: How Plants Do The Twist
Abstract: Twisted growth is widespread in plants and serves myriad adaptive
functions. While twisting often involves microtubule-related genes, how
macroscopic twisting emerges from molecular-level perturbations is unclear.
In this talk, I will present new data on the biochemical activity of
specific microtubule-associated proteins that contribute to twisted growth
and evidence that microtubule-based symmetry breaking propagates across
multiple organizational scales via the epidermis to produce handed root
skewing.

If you'd like to meet with him, here's the link to sign up:

Best wishes, and see you there!
Carolyn
