[Corebotanyfaculty] New Dept Staff - Procurement Analyst - Starting May 1st

Good afternoon,

I am pleased to announce that Glenda Barraza, was selected as the top candidate for our Procurement Analyst 2 position and will begin her role tomorrow, May 1st with our department.  Please feel free to stop by to say, hello.  Once all admin offices are fully functional, she will be assigned to room 2138 of Batchelor Hall.

Glenda comes to us with over 7 years of experience in purchasing at UCR, where she handled a variety of purchase orders for the departments, assisted with travel arrangements & reimbursements, was tasked with removal and relocation items and complex orders for research equipment.  She brings strong analytical skills, a dept administration background and exceptional customer service experience in working with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.  We are quite excited to have her join our team.

At this time, Glenda will be in training with Jessica to get familiar with the new Oracle system, policies, and procedures for campus.

I would like to thank our whole team of staff in the Botany department and IIGB unit for lending a helping hand while we were hiring for this role.  Many of the staff took on training and extra duties, while we were short staffed.  I understand this is a challenging time, and truly appreciate everyone's effort in assisting to keep the department running efficiently.
