Hi everyone,
I’ve been contacted by a representative of Terramer Bioplastics https://www.terramerinc.com/ They use hemp to make bioplastics and are interested in exploring options for collaborations with UCR faculty. Their main interests are in growing hemp faster, to achieve a shorter interval between harvests. They also seem to have need to survey different hemp strains for secondary metabolites, and perhaps productivity in different environmental conditions. They are looking for collaborations, I think with a goal of writing grants together. But they might also be interested in having samples analyzed in our core facilities.

They have asked about hemp research happening here. There is not much, but I think they would profit from meeting with people who understand plant growth and development, and perhaps metabolomics and/or proteomics cores.

Representatives from Terramer will visit campus this Friday, Sept 15 at 11 am. Please let me know if you are available and interested in meeting with them.

Thanks, patty
