Agenda:

1.  Discussion of Search Committee short list recommendation for Plant Community Ecology search.
The committee has 5 candidates on their short list and recommends initially interviewing the top 4.  Their report and summary of each candidate is attached.

The committee has also recommended that we pursue hiring a Target of Excellence (TOE) hire for one of the candidates in the pool.  This will need to be discussed in light of the larger academic planning discussion. 3.  Academic planning.  I just received request for our hiring plan/request for positions for next year, which is due April 14.  I’m attaching our academic plan from last year.
I think we may need a significant amount of time to discuss academic planning, especially in light of a potential new major in Genetics and Biotechnology, which we discussed at the faculty retreat in January.  I am hoping that we might find a time to meet either finals week or spring break week. I realize that some of you may have plans during those weeks that will prevent you from attending, but I thought I would take a poll to determine if it is possible.
