Please see below the funding opportunity to create a faculty learning community (FLC) to develop, implement, and assess an educational intervention in biology courses in partnership between 2-year and 4-year educators. More details below.

Best,

> Hi all,
>
> We wanted to let you know that team applications for the 4th year of the Biology Education Intersegmental Collaborative (BEIC) program are now open here. BEIC is an NSF-funded research coordination network (RCN) to facilitate the formation of faculty learning communities (FLCs) consisting of 2-year and 4-year educators. FLCs are invited to submit proposals to develop, implement, and assess an educational intervention. This process will include guidance from an FLC mentor with expertise in implementing evidence-based teaching practices and conducting education research, attendance at the Summer Institute on Scientific Teaching in August 2023 in San Diego, and participation in a CourseSource workshop in January 2024 (aligned with SABER West) or July 2024 (aligned with the SABER annual meeting) to disseminate your FLC’s activities.
>
> We are also looking for BEIC mentors to guide these FLCs, so if you are interested, please apply here.
>
> Applications will be accepted until April 17th. If you have any questions or would like some feedback on your initial ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Head to the BEIC website to see the outstanding projects our first, second and third year teams have assembled. And please feel free to forward this to potentially interested colleagues.
>
> Sincerely,
