Dear Chairs and Interdepartmental Graduate Program Directors,

Sincere apologies for this Saturday morning e-mail, which I meant to send on Thursday afternoon or Friday, but other items arose.

Attached is the interim report from the Academic Planning Council Workgroup on the Future of Doctoral Programs at the UC, with appendixes.  In the cover letter from the UC Provost and UC Senate Academic Council Chair, you will see that feedback is desired by Dec 22 using the Google site listed or to the committee co-chairs.

This report was discussed at Dean’s Council on Thursday morning.  We can discuss at our chairs meeting on 12/20 if you want, but this is close to the deadline, and I would like to focus on another issue that day.   Happy to discuss before then if you so wish.
