Subject: Re: [Corebotanyfaculty] Metabolomics search committee recommendation - VOTE needed

HI everyone,

The search committee recommendation has been approved. The recommendation was to proceed with an offer to Adam Jozwiak as the top candidate, and if that is not successful, to move to the 2nd choice, Yezhang Ding.
The votes are:

22 Yes
1 Abstain

We will proceed with requesting permission from the Dean’s office to enter into negotiations with Adam Jozwiak.

Thanks for your input.  Patty

Hi everyone,
The search committee has submitted their recommendation for the Metabolomics position. The message and recommendation from search committee chair Katie Dehesh is below:

Dear BPS faculty

Following the circulation of the survey for assessment of the metabolomic candidates, the search committee met today and discussed and ranked them accordingly:

Adam Jozwiak (1);

Yezhang Ding (2);

Youjun Zhang (3), and

Courtney Leisner (4).

The committee’s ranking aligned with the outcome of the survey where the majority of the respondents identified Dr. Jozwiak as the first choice and Dr. Ding as the second. Similarly, the survey and the committee identified the other two candidates (3rd and 4th with their ranking shown next to their names) as unacceptable for this position.

Accordingly, we recommend proceeding to make Dr. Jozwiak an offer prior to having him visit, because his home institute is planning to retain him by providing him a PI status, and thus time is of essence. However, he certainly should be invited to visit and assess the place at a later time.

If we are unsuccessful in recruiting Dr. Jozwiak, the committee recommends Dr. Ding.

Thanks to you all.

Katie
