[CITL] Notice: Upcoming Maintenance to Drupal Affecting Websites

Dear CITL Members,

 

Please be advised of upcoming maintenance to campus website services, taking
place starting at 6:00 AM on Saturday, March 6, until 11:59 PM, Sunday,
March 7, 2021.   

 

During the maintenance window no impact is expected and services should
continue to run as normal. However, in the unlikely event that the update is
unsuccessful, some campus Drupal websites may become unavailable while we
perform a manual website recovery process. This process would follow a
website restoration plan to ensure critical and high-traffic websites are
prioritized while ITS works to bring all affected websites back online as
quickly as possible. 

 

Unfortunately, this risk cannot be mitigated due to the current Acquia
Drupal server issue that this maintenance event is attempting to resolve.
Please note, however, that ITS has conducted thorough testing and developed
a rollback plan to reduce risk to the greatest extent possible.
Additionally, ITS has requested on-call support from the vendor during
deployment and will have the ability to troubleshoot during the update. For
these reasons an outage is unlikely to happen and no impact to campus is
expected. 

 

This planned maintenance is required to resolve an Acquia Drupal server
issue that has affected campus websites since October of last year. The
maintenance event date and time were selected to ensure minimal potential
impact to campus operations and events.
