[Chemistry_faculty] Faculty Vote on the New Course Chem 093

Dear all,

After our discussion in faculty meeting and consultation with the CNAS Dean of Student Affairs, the Undergraduate Studies Committee is proposing to create a new Freshman Seminar class that will replace NASC 093 for chemistry majors, and will be a required 1-unit class for freshman chemistry majors, called Chem 093. A sample syllabus is attached (this is just for submission and approval, obviously the exact content is up to the instructor) as well as justification and the course creation document.

This is time-sensitive, as the deadline for submission of new courses for Fall 2024 is Nov 1.
Please send your votes (yes, no, abstain) to Barbara by Monday Oct 23.
