Sciences




The culture of academia often emphasizes competition, prestige, exclusion,
and solitary work, all of which can be detrimental to faculty well-being.
This workshop asks academic leaders to turn these cultural norms on their
head and consider instead how collaboration, community, inclusion, and
mission can create better conditions for faculty to do their best teaching,
research, and service. The presentation shares research on the state of
faculty well-being and creates space for participants to brainstorm
customized organizational change strategies to improve faculty well-being.
