Dear Faculty,

new GradSMS admissions module. Please let me know today as I need to
inform Elisa asap. There will be an introductory meeting this Friday.

Subject: Request for CHASS GradSMS UAT Testing Volunteers - Due Today,
Sorry!
To: Perla Fabelo <perla.fabelo at ucr.edu>
Hello Perla,
I am seeking a few GradSMS UAT (User Acceptance Training) volunteers from
your college who are available to assist with the final user acceptance
training of the GradSMS Admissions module.
I am including the roles and the current number of use cases that I need
volunteers to test. Michelle and I are working with ITS to test all
scenarios and review instructions to ensure that volunteers are only
testing verified scenarios. However, we are still working with ITS to
develop features and may be adding more testing scenarios, based on current
development. I have not received confirmation of when testers must complete
their testing, but I anticipate that it will be by early to mid-September.
- Graduate Admissions Staff (79 Scenarios)
- Graduate Admissions Advisor (33 Scenarios)
- College Admissions Staff (28 Scenarios)
- College Admissions Approver 14 Scenarios)
Here are my thoughts for filling the positions based on the testing that
Michelle and I have completed.
- If you want to split testing between two users, I support that, given
the number assigned to the Graduate Admissions Staff role.
- I am not sure if a faculty member would be available to test, so if
CHASS has a staff volunteer who works very closely with their advisor, we
will happily use that knowledge to test this role. Michelle and I have
worked closely with staff in CHASS, so we are using what we learned over
the past two years, but I want to double-check.
- Would you be available to volunteer for both college roles?
Alternatively, it would be great to have the current College Staff role
(not sure if still Annie) in GradSIS assist with testing, or at a
minimum, consult when you test. I am including the update to this role in
GradSMS below. I am happy to meet and discuss this further.
- In GradSMS, the College Staff role was expanded to allow edit
access and included in the routing process, if required by the college
(between the Advisor and College Approver). In GradSIS, they only created
the college support columns that programs used to create the
campus funding
that programs added to their templates and charts.
*ITS wants to have an introductory meeting with this group *on
*Friday, **August
22, 20**25, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. **If possible, please let me know by
the end of today*; that would be greatly appreciated! If you'd like to
share names, I'd be happy to reach out to them, considering the short
notice we're providing.
