Celebrate mujeres! Attend the annual series of events highlight the contributions of Chicana/Latinas, and to honor and empower all women. Register for the workshops, or the entire series. Events are free and open to the community. Zoom links will be shared following RSVP. This series is brought to you by the Semana de la Mujer planning committee, Teatro Quinto Sol, Writer's Building Blocks, Mujeres Unidas, La Familia de UCR, LGBT Resource Center, Native American Student Programs and Chicano Student Programs. ¡PRESENTE! Virtual Event – Un espacio for our QT* community with Madrina de Honor Bamby Salcedo
Friday, February 19th 4pm-5pm
Bamby is a national and international transgender Latina Woman who completed her master’s degree in Latino/a Studies. Bamby is the President and CEO of the TransLatin@ Coalition, a national organization that focuses on addressing the issues of transgender Latinxs in the US. Bamby has served and participated in many local, national and international organizations and planning groups. This work mediates intersections of race, gender, sexuality, age, social class, HIV+ status, immigration status and more. Closed captioning is provided for this event. Event is free and open to all. The ¡Presente! Conference is a collaboration of La Familia de UCR, Chicano Student Programs, and the LGBT Resource Center. Flyer attached.
