[CaTEACH-SMI] STEP Conference

Are you interested in teaching in science or mathematics? Would you
like to be involved in the region's largest interactive
science/technology event for K-12 students?
Approximately three volunteers are needed by
<http://www.ambryxbiotech.com/>Ambryx Biotechnology and
<http://www.encorepharma.com/pharma/default.htm>Encore
Pharmaceuticals for their joint booth exploring biology at the
<http://www.myscienceeducation.com/index.htm>Science and Technology
Education Partnership Conference (STEP 7) Oct. 11-12 at the Riverside
Convention Center. These two local drug discovery companies plan an
interactive booth involving microscope viewing and simple synthesis
demonstrations.
What are the benefits for you?
* Help spark students' imagination about the possibilities of
careers in science and technology
* Interact with company scientists and teachers
* Gain experience working with students in hands-on demonstrations
One volunteer is desired for each of the following three time slots:
* 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 11 (middle school students)
* 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 (K-12 students)
* 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 12 (Grade 4-6)
