Greetings colleagues,
At this morning meeting with Dr. Todd Anderson, Acting Assistant Director, Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER), Office of Science, Department of Energy (DOE). I learned about DOE efforts towards advancing the field of plant biotechnology through the establishment of a plant transformation center, initially together with the University of Georgia and with a focus on bioenergy crops.
There seem to be much activity in plant transformation center(s) establishment from the funding agencies.
Perhaps it is time to brainstorm about UCR involvement in such an endeavor.
