Dear Graduate Students,

If you are beyond your 5th year of study please let me know me if your PI will be supporting you for the upcoming winter quarter so that your charts can be updated. The fee payment deadline is January 4th, so we have until that time to get your fee remissions paid so that you do not incur a late fee. I have updated everyone’s charts who have been awarded a TA for the winter quarter, and I have updated the charts of those whose PI informed me they will be supporting them for the year prior to the start of the fall quarter.

Also, anyone who has any holds on their records should let me know as well since you will not be able to register for class with the hold on your record. Your fees will not post if you are not registered for at least 12 units, therefore, be sure to adjust your research units to get to the requisite 12 unit requirement.

Students who have not advanced to candidacy should be registering for the full 6 unit allotment of 297 research units and supplementing the remainder of units with their 299 research course. Any first year students who are rotating and cannot find a research course with the faculty member they are rotating with can reach out to me so that the course can be created.

Lastly, please be sure to check your account balances, if you have any discrepancies please let me know so that we can get them resolved before the fee payment deadline approaches.

Hello Everyone,

The fee payment deadline and the $100 late fee will be assessed the same day – 1/4/2021, the first day of instruction.

This means departments MUST have employment awards and correct fellowship funds posted for students before the January 4th deadline to avoid the late fee. Please work with Maria (fellowships/GradESS) and Patrick (employment) if you have any questions about a student’s funding. Please take some time now to review your student’s awards and confirm everything is correct.

I’ll be sending these reports regularly to give you an overview of your students. The goal is to have ZERO students on the Enrolled and Not Paid tab. (currently 639 students)

Enrolled students need to either be PAID or cancel/withdraw if they are not coming. Please review your students to confirm any awards are posted and they are truly attending. Not Paid students will receive a $100 late fee on 1/4/21. Students owing only the campus specific misc fees will be considered paid.

Registration reports attached. There are several tabs each with a different focus.

  1.  All Students – Active for Winter 2021
  2.  Enrolled and Paid – these students should be good, but confirm the are in the correct number of units
  3.  Enrolled and Not Paid – we want this report to have zero students on it
  4.  Not Paid and Not Enrolled – these students will be placed on RD status if not enrolled (currently 1705 students)
  5.  Holds – potentially preventing Fall 2020 registration and need to be resolved for the student to attend
  6.  Students with awards but are currently showing NOT PAID or have fewer than 12 units – this means you need to check on the student’s awards and confirm it’s correct and posted
