[Bphyfaculty] [bphystudent] DYP, GRMP, DD-HSI call for applications

Hello BPHY,
Once again it is DYP/GRMP time. Please read all the information below carefully, as the submission process has changed.

BPHY is allocated 1 award, and the program can nominate one person for the campus-wide competitive awards and one for the DD-HIS (pre-professoriate) award.  Please see attached for information on eligibility for each of these.

This year there are new forms that must be used:
DYP:  https://grad.ucr.edu/register/DYP_Award_App_22_23
GRMP:  https://grad.ucr.edu/register/GRMP_Award_App_22_23
DD-HSI:  https://grad.ucr.edu/register/HSI_Award_App_22_23

The forms ask for:
1. CV that provides information on the student's accomplishments
2. 2-page Research statement
3. 1 page diversity statement (all students)
4. Contact information for two letter writers including the major professor

The new application process is as follows:
1. The student fills out and submits the application, including contact information for letter writers.
2. When the application is received, an email will be sent to the letter writers asking them to fill out a short form and submit their letter.  PLEASE NOTE this means the letter writer will not be notified until AFTER the application is submitted.

FACULTY AND STUDENTS PLEASE NOTE:  Because of the short time-line, it is critical for students to inform their letter writers that  their letter will have to be submitted as soon as the email is received (in other words, prepare it in advance).

Timeline/deadlines:
Applications must be submitted through the links above by January 14
Letters must be submitted by January 17

This is a very tight schedule once classes start, so please get started on this now.
