Good afternoon Dr. Le Roch,

Unfortunately, the deadline is strictly being enforced by graduate division. We can no longer extend until September. If you are on a dissertation or guidance committee for a BMSC student, the deadline is June 25th.

I am perplexed by this email. I recall the deadline for this process used to be September 30 and I believe, we received an extension for other programs until September 30th. I will be traveling starting this week and will be unable to attend any student evaluation meetings until the last week of July.

Best regards,

Karine

Dear PhD Students and Faculty Mentors,

The 2025-2026 Annual Mentoring and Evaluation (AME) Form is now available via R'Grad.
All annual evaluation meetings and the accompanying AME form must be completed by June 25, 2026. Please note that no extensions will be granted.

All PhD students and faculty committee members must participate in the AME meeting (either in-person or via Zoom). Please note, participation in an oral qualifying exam does not satisfy this annual evaluation requirement.
We strongly recommend students initiate the form immediately and schedule their AME meeting well in advance of the June 25th deadline.

The AME Process at a Glance

  * Step 1: Student initiates the Annual Mentoring and Evaluation (AME) in R'Grad<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/rgrad.ucr.edu/app/__;!!OLyWHuc!WwY-KCIZ8GVOqLGQ0-MGxnp3lOE7V9oHIXqFSXts8DQZyqeb71sn51rbmvQ8xj4AgURnLS2-YF9jtDsequ0ApuDtCA$>.

     * During this step, the Primary (major professor) and Additional Evaluator(s) are added (guidance or dissertation committee members), if applicable. If the student doesn't designate a Primary Evaluator(s), the faculty Graduate Advisor automatically fills that role.

  * Step 2: Primary Evaluator(s) complete the Assessment of Skills and review the student's goals.
  * Step 3: Additional Evaluator(s) give feedback, if applicable.
  * Step 4: The AME returns to the student queue for their review and verification.
  * Step 5: Graduate Staff review.
  * Step 6: Graduate Advisor review for the final program approval.
  * Step 7: Graduate Academic Affairs review only if the overall assessment from the Primary Evaluator(s) is "Needs Improvement."

Please contact us if you have any questions about the AME process.

Best regards,
