Dear BMSC Grad Program Faculty,

Happy New Year-2022. Hope you all had a restful break and looking forward to this year.

We had to switch our Biomed Graduate Recruitment Day from in person to remote. We need your help in making this event a success. Your research is groundbreaking and exciting. Th students would love to hear what you have to offer and excite the next generation of scientists. Even if you are not willing to give a short talk, you can chat with the students after signing up for the interviews. Without you this event would not be possible.

Hermila recently sent you two emails- please get back to her (many of you have responded-Thank you so much).

1) "We are in need of faculty volunteers for 3 mini-research talks during recruitment day, Jan. 21, 2022 from 4-5PM. This is the student candidates' opportunity to learn more about biomedical sciences research trending in labs and it's a preview of available program labs that are interested in taking students in the upcoming years.

The talks would only be 10 minutes in length with 3 minutes of Q+A. We have 3 slots open for research talks.

If you are interested in taking new PhD students or having students rotation in your labs in the coming years, please respond to this email by Thursday, Jan. 13."

2) "Thank you for your continued support of the BMSC Graduate Program. We are in the process of finalizing details for the upcoming virtual Grad Recruitment Day on Friday, January 21, and need additional faculty interviewers to fill the remaining time slots for the 31 candidates. Each candidate will be given three 1:1 interviews, however currently there are 11 candidates that only have 1 or 2 interviews confirmed because we have exhausted all available time slots provided to us through the original Doodle poll sent out last week.

Since we didn't receive a Doodle respond from you, I'm reaching out again hoping there might be room in your morning or afternoon schedule to assign one or two interviews. The times needed to fill are 9:30-9:55AM, 10:05-10:30AM, 1:10-1:35PM, 1:45-2:10PM. Would any of these times fit into your schedule?

We understand your time is limited and appreciate any additional flexibility you might have on this day. This will be a big help in confirming all 93 individual interviews.
Let me know as soon as possible, as we are trying to solidify the schedule by end of day tomorrow."

Hope to hear back from you all,

Seema
